A GCSE student from Kenton has been nominated for a Black Child Academic Achievement Award.Ekow Plange, of Tookey Close, will attend The London Schools and Black Child Academic Achievement Awards at the House of Commons on October 10.

Ekow, 16, attended St Gregory's Catholic Science College in Donnington Road where he took his GCSEs this summer.The awards will be hosted by Diane Abbott, MP for Hackney, and guests include TV presenter Sir Trevor McDonald and ex-England defender, Ledley King.
